"Infinite shiny objects. Finite time."

“Look how fast I built this!” my friend said, showing me her sleek new web app.

Airtable backend with AI-generated code. Zero dev team supervision.

Two weeks later, we were back on Facetime. With a lot less enthusiasm.

Nothing worked. She was hemorrhaging private client data, and customers were demanding refunds on her shiny new tech.

That’s the danger of tools that seem too good to be true:
THEY ARE.

You’ve probably read guru posts about “vibe coding” lately. And the tools are super slick. You basically talk to AI (in plain English) and it builds you a functional web tool or site in minutes. High-fives all around.

The speed to concept is insane, like all things AI. It totally delivers on that promise.

But no-code builders also deliver something much less ideal …
Gaping security holes, precariously patched together with duct tape.

We’ve all seen AI tools hallucinate / lose track of facts / share misinformation, right?

Soooooo … why wouldn’t the exact same thing happen when it writes code? 🤔

Vibe coding is super fun — until it’s your job to work with or fix it.

  • No version control

  • Adjacent software loops and dependencies

  • No ability to make quick updates (outside of the chatbot)

  • Security holes you can drive a tank through

  • And no one (including you) knows what the code actually does

Believe me, we’re not anti-AI. But these no-code tools were meant for prototyping NOT production.

Somewhere down the AI pipedream, people started pushing the boundaries. And now companies are hiring us to clean up tech messes (and reputations) before they get sued.

No shame if you tried the vibe-coding shortcut. Lots of folks are doing it.

But shortcuts only work if you know where they lead.

So if you’re sitting on a vibe-coded lawsuit waiting to happen (like my poor friend) … don’t patch it.

Rebuild it.

With eyes wide open — and real humans who’ve done this before. 😉

Your ideas deserve better.

AI is flooding your inbox with mediocre content — and at the same time making clarity and trust more important than ever.

The Idea Sled, human-written by my friend Christopher Fox, is a sharp, practical, weekly guide for turning complex ideas into content people actually want to read.

This Friday’s issue takes a deep-dive into the one thing most content marketing still overlooks: user experience.

Because even brilliant insights get ignored when your design screams DIY.

PS — Chris and I are totally aligned on this: strong copy gets attention, but great design earns trust. You need both working together if you want your ideas to stick.

Write for multiple publications? Authory keeps your portfolio current.

Most writers forget to add new work to their portfolios, especially when publishing weekly across multiple outlets. Authory fixes that completely.

It automatically adds every new article, even paywalled pieces, and keeps your entire portfolio updated and organized without you having to lift a finger.

Ready, Set, Bet (#affiliate) is a live betting free-for-all where split-second choices win the race.

It’s a perfect party game for up to 9 people, but it also plays just as well with as few as 4. One person runs the horse race by rolling dice (or using the free app), and everyone else places bets while the horses move.

Your goal is simple: end the night with the most money. You’ll drop chips on odds that change in real time, hedge with side bets, and decide when to lock in before the line shifts. Wait too long and the odds get worse. Move early and you might snag a payoff others miss.

It looks chaotic, but there is a rhythm. Read the board, back a runner you believe in, then cover with a safer option so one win still pays. Big payouts come from timely commitment, not perfect information.

That’s how effective marketing works. Give visitors a clear offer, one path to act, and proof that it helps right now. If a message starts to run, lean into it while the odds are good. A marketing coach can help you test a small risk, measure it in plain English, and double the bets that are actually winning.

Ready, Set, Bet rewards smart risk at the right moment. And just like in business, if you wait for the perfect moment to move, someone else will surely beat you to the punch.

Make it a great week! 🙌
