“Oh yeah. Of course we have a website.”

That’s what our prospect said … right before we pulled up a homepage that hadn’t been touched since Obama’s first term.

It had an About page written like a resume and stock photos from a time when you had to buy CD collections.

It wasn’t just outdated. It was a RELIC.

Here’s the thing most business owners still miss:

Your website is not a business card or a shrine dedicated to past achievements.

It’s your best salesperson.

Errrr … at least, it should be.

So, go ahead. Take a quick peek (right now) and ask yourself:

  • Does your site explain what you do (in plain English) in < 5 seconds?

  • Does it guide visitors where to go next, like a sharp, confident tour guide?

  • Does it anticipate hesitation, build trust, and lead to the next step?

Because if it doesn’t … that’s not just an age issue.

It’s a gaping revenue leak.

A lot of people still treat websites like a one-time project.

Make it look nice. List a few features. Hit publish. Done.

That might have worked ten years ago, but it certainly doesn’t cut it these days.

Your website is like a house. One you actually LIVE IN. It gets messy. Things break. Paint fades. And if you don’t maintain it, visitors feel it the moment they walk in.

The goal here isn’t HGTV perfection; it’s regular upkeep. A site that looks clean and current does way more than just look nice. It builds trust and makes people want to stick around.

And the same goes for non-human visitors. Bots won’t even bother crawling an outdated site anymore.

In 2026, your website can’t be a coffee table scrapbook.

It needs to be your top-performing sales rep. Working weekends. Handling objections. And delivering a confident pitch, long before a phone call.

Ask — “Would I hire this site to sell what I do?”

If the answer is no … it’s time for a serious performance review.

Victory Points

In the board game Pandemic (#affiliate), you're not competing — you're collaborating.

You and your team are disease specialists racing to stop four deadly outbreaks from spiraling out of control.

One player might fly around treating infections. Another shares knowledge to develop a cure. Someone else builds research centers to buy you time.

Every player brings a unique skill and every decision means the difference between saving the world … or watching it collapse.

It’s intense. Strategic. And uncomfortably realistic.

Like Pandemic, your website needs regular check-ins and a team that knows what they’re doing. Ignore it too long, and small issues start to spread.

But handled right — with strategy and a clear mission — your website stops being a static page. It becomes your front-line closer.

Make it a great week! 🙌
