You know what's funny about running a business?

We're always planning for tomorrow.

Next quarter's goals. Next year's projections. That 5-year plan everyone keeps asking me about. 🤔

Here's what I'm still learning (as I stare at a blank screen writing this post) …

“Tomorrow” is this elusive, magical place where everything is in perfect alignment. Where we have more energy … more motivation … more time.

But the future of your business isn't built on “tomorrow”. It's built on the small, imperfect moments of RIGHT NOW.

When you:

• Answer that customer email thoughtfully

• Take a minute to recognize a teammate or referral partner

• Reach out to a past connection (legitimately) “just because”

• Offer guidance or insight without expecting anything in return

The present moment is your power spot. Your sweet spot. Your "let's make magic happen" spot. And it’s the only one that is 100% guaranteed.

So DO something about it.

Take that imperfect action.
Send that "good enough" email.
Launch that MVP.
Publish that post.

Planning is just fancy procrastination if you don't take action. 👊

Talk about the importance of taking care of the future …

Imagine it’s your job to prevent world destruction by discovering cures for not just one, but FOUR killer diseases that have broken out around the world.

Now before you start having Covid nightmares (times 4), please relax.

I’m not talking about a real-life outbreak. I’m talking about the situations you will face while playing the hit game, Pandemic (#ad).

Unlike most other games, Pandemic is what’s known as a cooperative game. In fact, it’s one of the first and arguably the most popular.

That means you don’t have to go it alone. In Pandemic, you and up to 3 of your friends will team up to save the world.

Each of you is assigned a character with a very specialized pandemic-fighting ability like being a medic, or a researcher, or a transportation expert.

As a group you’ll have a tension-filled blast planning your strategies, making use of each member’s special abilities, and traveling all over the world.

Among other things, you’ll have to decide whether to fly around the world to administer treatments … or meet with other scientists to share discoveries … or build research centers …  All before the next outbreak occurs.

And of course, your resources are extremely limited.

Every move you make today can mean the difference between life and death tomorrow.

You either win as a team by discovering cures for all 4 diseases …

Or, well, you know, die a miserable death along with the rest of the world.

What could be more fun? 😜

Thankfully, this world-wide crisis is NOT real. But the tension this game generates often makes you feel like it is.

It’s THAT good!
