Good Enough.

The hidden power in knowing when to stop.

In partnership with

"If you want something new, you have to stop doing something old."

Peter Drucker

You know what used to give me a sense of accomplishment?

Opening a client project just one more time to tweak the margins.
Adjust a headline. Swap an image.

But if I’m being honest with myself, the goal wasn’t really improving the work — it was avoiding the discomfort of sending it for critique.

And nine times out of ten, the client would just request a change (or ten) anyway.

***

So I came to a painful realization a few years ago.

Endless revisions? That’s just fear parading around as perfection.

Like adding a sixth layer of frosting to a cake no one’s even tasted yet.

And it wasn’t just draining time.
 It was draining creative energy.
Because the longer I stayed in “tweaking” mode, the less room I had for anything new.

***

So I started practicing a new mantra. One that’s still a bit controversial:

Good Enough.

Not as a cop-out — but as a boundary.
A creative declaration that says: “this doesn’t need to be flawless to be right.”

Because guess what?

“Good Enough” gets stuff done and out there.

“Good Enough” frees up your brain to build what’s next — instead of obsessing over what’s (quite contentedly) finished as-is.

So here’s this week’s Monday Mantra: “Done” is 100% YOUR decision.

And it’s not just about being finished — it’s about being smart.

You have to weigh the impact of one more tweak… against the energy it’ll cost you.

Because let’s be honest: some changes are upgrades. But many of them? They’re just spinning wheels and busywork.

As for “Good Enough”?

It’s exactly what it sounds like …

Good.
 Enough.

Power Prompt

PRIMER:

Tell your AI what you’re working on and where you’re stuck (ex: “I keep reworking my website copy and can’t decide if it’s good enough”).

Add this after: “I’ll tell you how you can help me next.”

Then use this prompt to help you keep moving forward without falling back into old habits.

PASTE THIS PROMPT:

You are a creative strategist who values clarity and forward momentum.

I'm stuck in perfectionist thinking and need help deciding whether this [describe project or asset] is ready to move forward, or if it truly needs revision.

Ask me 3 questions to clarify whether the changes I’m considering are meaningful improvements or just fear-based tweaks.

Then help me summarize what’s truly “good enough” — and suggest the next best action to keep momentum going.

Notion vs. Coda

The Battle of Smart Workspaces

Contestant #1 — Notion

Notion is the all-in-one workspace that’s part notes app, part wiki, part productivity playground. It’s clean, intuitive, and dangerously easy to over-organize (don’t say I didn’t warn you).

Free forever plan: Personal use with unlimited pages

Upgraded plans: Starts at $8/month

Best for: Creatives, freelancers, and minimalists who want a central hub for everything from content calendars to personal journals.

Why it works: It’s flexible enough for anything, yet focused enough to keep you sane. And they’re constantly adding features.

Contestant #2 — Coda

Coda takes the idea of a document and gives it superpowers — think spreadsheets with buttons, automations, and integrations galore.

Free forever plan: Includes docs, tables, and basic automations

Upgraded plans: From $10/month with advanced automations

Best for: Teams, systems thinkers, and data peeps who want their docs to DO something, not just sit there.

Why it works: It turns to-do lists into mini-apps, and meetings into dashboards. If you dream in Airtable, you’ll love it here.

AND THE WINNER IS …

🎉 NOTION 🎉

No surprise here (I’m a Notion fangirl all the way! 😉) For everyday use and visual simplicity, Notion takes the crown. But if you're building complex workflows or managing a team, Coda is definitely worth checking out.

Scout: The Upside-Down Way to Get Into Modern Card Games

For the last few weeks, I’ve been introducing my favorite games that will get jump-start your enjoyment of modern board games.

We began this series with the card-collecting, route-building game, Ticket to Ride Europe.

Last week’s game was the abstract strategy game called Ingenious.

This week is geared for those of you who grew up on classic trick-taking card games but are ready for something new. That’s where Scout comes in.

Scout is the perfect “gateway” card game — easy to learn, quick to play, and just different enough to feel fresh and exciting.

At first glance, it looks like any old card game. You’re trying to play stronger sets and sequences than your opponents, just like Rummy or Poker.

But then comes the twist: you can’t rearrange the cards in your hand. Ever.

Oh, and each card? It has two different numbers, one on each end. If you think it will start you off with better trick-taking combinations, you can literally rotate your entire hand of cards 180 degrees and play the entire round with the opposite numbers.

Now, you can only do that one time, before you start playing any cards each round. But that one flip can totally change your strategy and your fate.

Add in the option to “scout” (take a card from an opponent’s play and wedge either value on the card into your hand wherever you want), and every turn is full of clever decisions that are very satisfying.

Scout is perfect for game nights, cafes, or even family dinners. It’s fast, it’s fun, and it fits in your pocket. It rewards all players with that “aha!” moment modern games are known for — without overwhelming them.

Before you know it, your card-shark uncle or UNO-loving friend will beg you to play Scout again and again.

If you like card games, give it a try. It doesn’t simply unlock the world of modern card games — it literally turns it upside down.

Make it a great week! 🙌
