No parking zone
Overcoming momentum-killers and mission restarts.

“The road to success is dotted with many tempting parking spaces.”
Ever have one of those "parking lot" moments in your business?
You’re cruising along, picking up speed, and then — BAM! — Road closure. Proposal rejection. Ghosted by a prospect that felt like a sure thing.
And in that moment, every quick-fix and distraction seems like the perfect rest stop.
I get it. That feeling of momentum, interrupted by setback after setback, is completely draining.
Maybe it’s that project you’ve been pushing through, but every step is met with resistance.
Or that new offer that’s almost ready, but fear of rejection leaves you wondering if it’s even worth the effort.
Here’s the thing: progress doesn’t have to be perfect, and rejection doesn’t mean you’ve lost your way.
It just means that you need to keep pushing forward, even when it feels tempting to park and take a (sometimes indefinite) break.

So, instead of parking, go ahead — launch that “mostly ready” offer. Hit send on that “pretty good” email. Post that “not-quite-perfect” social update.
Because done and out there will always beat perfect and stuck in your drafts.
Keep going. Keep moving.
Your next breakthrough is just around the corner. 😉

This week we’re going to share another cooperative game that’s a great lesson in avoiding distractions & staying on track.
It’s a space-themed, trick-taking game where you and up to 4 friends are astronauts on a spaceship. You’ll all work together progressing through a clever back-story to accomplish 50 “missions” on your way to discovering a mysterious new planet.
Aptly enough, it’s called The Crew – The Quest For Planet Nine (#ad).
The Crew consists of a deck of 40 cards in 4 colored suits with values from 1 to 10. In addition, there are 4 “Rocket” cards, which are wild cards. Like most trick-taking games, the initial card played sets the suit that must be followed.
But what sets The Crew far apart from other card games are the “missions”. These are tasks for each hand that require you to take tricks in a certain way.
These progressively more difficult missions can include any number of challenges including: taking specific cards in a specific order; taking tricks with specific cards; specific crew members taking specific tricks, and all with little to no communication.
In The Crew, it’s always about the right players winning the right tricks at the right time. If a player wins even a single trick out of order, or one assigned to another crew member, you lose immediately and have to restart the mission.
Staying on track is an absolute MUST in order to accomplish each mission.
But as the rule book points out:
➡️ Even when you’re convinced that you cannot accomplish the mission, if you carry on and adjust, you may still emerge victorious.
Now THAT’S a life-lesson we all need to hear.
Love The Crew? Prefer an underwater theme? We also play and enjoy a spin-off game with even more unique challenges called The Crew – Mission Deep Sea (#ad).
Make it a great week! 🙌
